AI-assisted summary

Description from the seller

Beautiful anonymous engraving that follows the same direction as Rembrandt's etching depicting the biblical episode of the Good Samaritan.
A specimen with very wide margins, on laid paper, in excellent condition, slightly yellowed and weakened at the edges, with rare traces of foxing (see photo).
Depicted is a group of figures arriving at an inn; a wounded traveler is being lifted onto a pony whose reins are held by a boy. On the left, the Samaritan leaves money with the innkeeper at the door; a dog defecates on the right, further back a woman is at the well, and a landscape appears in the background.
For the references: White & Boon, 90; Hind, 101; New Hollstein, 116.
