Mimmo Rotella (1918–2006) was a pioneering figure in European post-war art. He gained international recognition through his radical engagement with urban image culture, particularly with film and advertising posters. By deliberately tearing, overlaying, and reassembling existing images, he developed a distinctive visual language that reflects consumerism, transience, and mass media. His works range between Pop Art, Nouveau Réalisme, and abstract composition, and are now an integral part of major international collections.
