Description from the seller
Joan Miró (1893–1983)
Composition, 1975
Original color lithograph on paper in impeccable condition with hardly any signs of aging, created at the historic Mourlot workshops and published by Maeght, two fundamental names in the production and dissemination of Joan Miró's graphic work. The print is signed in pencil by the artist in the lower right corner and numbered XXIII/LXXX in the lower left corner.
Created in 1975, this Composition belongs to the final stage of Miró's graphic production, a period characterized by complete formal freedom and a refined visual language down to its essence. The balance between color, sign, and space reveals the artist's maturity, where each gesture acquires an autonomous and deeply poetic presence.
The technical quality of the lithography, combined with the mastery of the Mourlot workshop, allows for exceptional fidelity to the stroke and chromatic intensity conceived by Miró, reinforcing the visual power of the work and its coherence within its late graphic corpus.
Measurements: 37 × 55 cm
Technique: Color lithography
Edition: 23/80
Bibliography: Catalogue Raisonné Mourlot, No. 1046
Fully documented work, limited edition, originating from one of the most prestigious editorial collaborations of the 20th century, representing a solid and representative example of Joan Miró's graphic work in his maturity.
