M.C. Escher (1898-1972) - Rimpeling - Rippled Surface - Bool 367

Beautiful graphic linocut by M.C. Escher, titled “Rippled Surface (Rimpeling)”, Boel 367, from 1950.

The print is signed in pencil and bears the inscription “eigendruk” (artist's proof). In the depiction the monogram and the year are visible.

This is one of Escher's well-known prints, in which the distortion of water reflections is depicted in a peculiar way.

The paper shows light signs of aging and a slight discoloration, consistent with a print from 1950.

I bought this print about five years ago at an auction on Catawiki. Since then it has been stored carefully.

I am selling the work because I am renewing my collection.
