Description from the seller
A unique work by Huibert van Dorp. The artwork is housed in a beautiful frame. It is a large and impressive piece measuring 193 x 225 cm.
Huibert van Dorp initially chose the profession of graphic designer at the art academy. However, during his studies, he discovered that his preference leaned towards a 'freer' form of expression. After the academy, he chose to work as an independent visual artist. In Van Dorp's work, graphic forms have always played an important role; illustrative elements such as devices, tables, and strange creatures shape the appearance of comic characters. Animals and humans go on a journey of discovery in his work; sometimes they meet and connect, other times they turn away from each other and tell their own stories. Van Dorp's works demonstrate great originality. The artist's handwriting is unmistakable in every technique he employs. Not only in his oil paintings, watercolors, and screen prints, but also on numerous objects he has built and painted himself, a certain anarchism prevails. Existing laws are ignored, and even the law of gravity is challenged. The spaces are dreamlike realms. The seemingly slow-moving figures float in a cosmos where the mood is set by a spectrum of bright colors.
Viewing of the plot is always possible. All contact information can be found on our own website. Art Dumay has an in-house list-making workshop with nearly 100 years of experience. If you're interested, please contact us and we will be happy to assist you.
