Description from the seller
"3 LIMONES" is a 70x100 cm painting by contemporary artist Ernest García. This painting is a vibrant and contemporary still life that celebrates the simplicity of the everyday object through color and pictorial gesture. Three lemons in an intense yellow rest on a deep blue plate, creating a direct and luminous chromatic contrast that acts as the central axis of the composition. The green leaves, freely arranged around and atop the plate, bring movement and freshness, breaking the traditional stillness of the classical still life.
The background is constructed with bold color planes: a saturated pink on the surface and a decorative blue at the top, animated by wavy yellow strokes that evoke an almost ornamental rhythm. This combination turns the scene into a space that is more emotional than realistic, where depth is suggested by color rather than by conventional perspective.
The brushstroke is visible, loose and expressive, reinforcing the pictorial character of the work and moving it away from descriptive detail. The light does not come from a concrete source, but rather seems to emanate from the color itself, making the lemons glow as symbols of vitality, abundance, and Mediterranean energy.
As a whole, 3 Limones is a bright and direct work, engaging with the tradition of still life through a modern Fauvist language, inviting the viewer to enjoy the color, the materiality, and the simple harmony of the essential objects.
