From the series of prints dedicated to "La Vie de Sainte Monique".
Lithograph on Vélin d'Arches paper.
Numbered in pencil and signed in the plate (PB).
Dimensions: 32.6 x 24.8 cm
One of the 340 copies printed by Aimé Jourde and published by Ambroise Vollard, Paris 1930.
Literature: Bouvet 111, p. 263 (Francis Bouvet, Catalogue Raisonné, Bonnard: The Complete Graphic Work, New York, Gallery Books, 1981).
Evocative lyricism and essentialism in the simplification of forms. A testament to the complex simplicity of the avant-garde founder of the Nabis group.
The lithograph was framed for decades, leaving marks that are visible in the photographs. There are slight, controlled rust stains.
