Artist Salvador Dalí; Title Alsace; a 1969 lithography, limited edition 1196/1700, framed, 67 x 52 cm with frame (50 x 35 cm without), origin Spain, Surrealism.
Description from the seller
This is a vintage travel poster of Alsace, featuring historic buildings on the horizon, rendered in black-and-white and enriched with a subtle butterfly motif. The design is by the famous surrealist artist Salvador Dalí and was commissioned by the French national railway company SNCF (Société Nationale des Chemins de fer Français).
The work was published in 1969 by J. Schneider and formed part of the so-called Butterfly Suite, a series used by SNCF to promote rail travel. The piece is signed in the lower right, numbered 1196/1700 in the lower left, and is framed.
Dimensions: 50 x 35 cm
Dimensions with frame: 67 x 52 cm
Viewing is, of course, possible. Additionally, we have our own in-house framing workshop, which is celebrating its 85th anniversary. Furthermore, we collaborate with restorers from the professional organization: 'Restauratoren Nederland'. If you wish to make use of this service, we would of course be happy to hear from you.
