Description from the seller
Red silence on the sea
Oil on canvas in a horizontal format 30x60 cm, the work presents itself as a lyrical and suspended vision, built with broad color bands that mark the space with balance and clarity. In the foreground dominates a vibrant field of intense greens, animated by tactile touches of yellow and red flowers, applied with decisive and pointillist brushstrokes that create rhythm and depth. Just beyond, a vast expanse of warm, luminous red crosses the composition like an emotional band, evoking blooming fields and a fertile land, almost pulsating with energy.
The horizon line is clear and reassuring: a strip of lighter green guides the eye towards the deep blue of the sea, calm and compact, which interacts with the clear sky. The sky, wide and bright, is painted with rich blues and gentle shades, interrupted by white, soft, and airy clouds that add breath and lightness to the scene. Thin white marks suggest the distant flight of seabirds, enhancing the sense of tranquility.
On the right, a narrative and poetic element of the work, stands a small rural house with light-colored walls and a terra-cotta tiled roof, adjacent to a lush tree. The house appears solitary yet welcoming, symbolizing refuge and human measure within a broad and silent landscape. The tree, with its dense and luminous crown, introduces an organic and vital counterpoint, balancing the large chromatic areas.
The overall scene evokes an atmosphere of contemplative peace, where color and form blend into an essential yet intense vision, typical of a painting that not only depicts a place but captures its soul and suspended time.
