Description from the seller
Title:
Mario Schifano (1934-1998) - "Agenda" - Polymaterial screenprint in enamel and collage - Artist's Proof (Prova d'Artista)
Description:
Splendid polymaterial specimen by the Italian Pop Art master Mario Schifano. The work, titled 'Agenda', stands out clearly from common silkscreens for its complex and three-dimensional mixed technique.
Distinctive features of the work:
Polymateric technique: The work is not a flat print. It features evident collage interventions and tactile material textures: the geometric cutouts and the stars are applied to the surface, creating a tangible relief effect compared to the underlying sheet. This gives the work depth and a play of light and shadow typical of Schifano's finest experimental production.
Dating: An intriguing historical detail can be read in the calendar cutout applied in the upper left, showing the date "DÉCEMBRE 1974", conceptually placing the work squarely in the 1970s.
Technical Details:
Artist: Mario Schifano
Dimensions: 70 x 50 cm
Edition: P.A. (Artist's Proof), annotated in pencil at the bottom left. Artist's Proofs are specimens reserved for the author, often regarded as of greater collectible value compared to the standard numbered edition.
Signature: Hand-signed by the artist in pencil, bottom right.
Stamp: Present the blind embossing stamp "Mario Schifano" in relief in the bottom left.
Condition: Excellent. The colors are vivid and the paper is well preserved.
Provenance: The work is accompanied by a Provenance Certificate from the auction house 'Daliano Ribani Aste', which guarantees its authenticity.
Frame: Sold without a frame.
Shipping
The work will be packed with the utmost care and shipped rolled up in a rigid reinforced tube via a traceable express courier, to ensure its integrity during transport.
