The print, produced at a 1:1 scale of the original ink drawing done by hand, represents the metaphysical and transfigured vision of the ancient city of Carthage.
The circular geometry echoes the shapes of the ancient military harbor of the Phoenician city, while the division into two detached portions emphasizes its monumental and imaginative value. In the lower right, embossed, there is Phoenician writing that represents the very name of Carthage.
The upper part is conceived as a labyrinth of spaces, additions and subtractions, representing the passage of time and suggesting a transformation as ancient in the past as remote in the future.
