Description from the seller
From the mid-1990s onward, Espen Hagen has been closely collaborating with his friend Herman Brood. Espen has exhibited twice at Café Dante, one of which was with Brood. In 1997 they also exhibited together again, this time in the Arsenaal of Jan des Bouvrie in Naarden. Because of their regular joint performances and the many canvases they produced together, Espen Hagen is often referred to as the protégé and successor of Herman Brood.
Espen Hagen was seen as the 'coming man' in Dutch painting. Thanks to the numerous exhibitions both at home and abroad and his regular television appearances, the star of this talented artist was on the rise. Espen Greger Hagen passed away on April 10, 2008.
