Hans van Dokkum (1908–1995) created a modern lithographic print depicting plants and flowers titled Zeefdruk lithograaf, hand-signed, from a limited edition of 5/10, measuring about 55 by 45 cm, originated in the Netherlands and dated to 1940–1950, in excellent condition.
Description from the seller
2 beautiful and rare screen prints/lithographs, 5/10 in color and signed in pencil by Hans van Dokkum.
Approximately 55 × 45 cm and 54 × 41.5 cm
Both images are approximately 49 x 38 cm.
Hans van Dokkum rarely produced a print run of more than 15 to 25 copies, so you will very likely not find this print/image on Google.
Van Dokkum studied at the Rijksnormaalschool for Drawing Teachers in Amsterdam. He taught at secondary schools in Utrecht, and there he was a colleague of Ivan Ingen. He painted village scenes, winter landscapes, and self-portraits.
His techniques were very varied. He was a watercolorist, etcher, wood engraver, lithographer, pastellist, pen-draughtsman, painter and draughtsman. Van Dokkum was, among other things, known for his skill in sugar etching and made many ex-libris (bookplates). He was the chairman of the Association for the Promotion of Graphic Arts, in short 'De Grafische', and of the Painting and Drawing Society Kunstliefde in Utrecht, and a member of Arti et Amicitiae in Amsterdam.
Hans van Dokkum's work can be admired, among other places, at the Centraal Museum in Utrecht.
