Original 14-panel comic art by Anonimowy, titled Hotel, unsigned, in good condition, using mixed media on translucent sheets with each of the 14 hand-numbered frames forming a cohesive narrative; size 13 cm by 10 cm, from Belgium and an original edition.
Description from the seller
Very rare example of an early, niche illustration for an adult audience, preserved in the form of original working boards.
It is a complete set of 14 original narrative drawings, forming a cohesive picture story in the form of an early comic. The works are done with pen and ink on tracing paper / tracing parchment, a technique characteristic of professional illustrators preparing boards for printing.
The whole presents a humorous-satirical tale with a sexual/erotic theme, set in urban and hotel surroundings. The narration is sequential – each drawing is a separate frame, and all 14 works are hand-numbered (1–14), which clearly indicates a closed, deliberate composition.
The drawing style corresponds to the Franco-Belgian school of illustration and early comics from the first half of the 20th century.
The subject matter and technique suggest that this is an authorial material originally intended for print reproduction, but operating outside the official publishing currents of the era.
Please view the photos which show the real condition of the items; they are also part of the description of the auction items.
