Corneille – L'oiseau volant, a framed, hand-signed lithograph from a limited edition (58/125) created in 1998, in good condition, 87 x 71 cm with frame (66 x 51 cm without), origin Netherlands, sold by Galerie.
Description from the seller
L’oiseau volant shows Corneille’s characteristic visual language: a simplified bird form, strong contours and bright colors. The bird seems to hover or fly, which reinforces the theme of freedom and movement. The work fits with his CoBrA background, in which spontaneity, intuition and expressive color are important, and it emphasizes the imaginative, almost dreamlike world that Corneille often creates.
Corneille (1922–2010) was a co-founder of the CoBrA movement and an important innovator in post-war art. His work evolved from abstract to figurative, with recurring themes such as birds, women, and flowers. This colorful silkscreen print is a fine example of his later style.
Dimensions of the work with frame: 87 x 71 cm
Dimensions of the work without frame: 66 x 51 cm
Framed artwork.
Appointments for viewing are available. We have our own framing workshop (celebrating 85 years) and work with recognized restorers (Restauratoren Nederland). Please feel free to contact us via our website.
