AI-assisted summary

Description from the seller

After David Teniers the Younger (1610–1690)
Engraving by A. Masson

Old engraving on antique laid paper with an ornamental watermark featuring multiple rings, comparable to the models catalogued by C.-M. Briquet (types nos. 12668–12732), generally attributed to Dutch and Franco-Flemish papermills, late 17th – early 18th century.

Inscriptions :
– At the top center, in the margin: 'D. Teniers'
– Bottom left: 'A. Masson sc.'
– Bottom right: « imp. A. Salmon »
– At the bottom center, in the margin: 'Une Kermesse'

Very good overall condition.
Paper with a bright, uniform white.
Presence of a continuous horizontal crease along the top edge of the sheet, perfectly regular, suggesting an old mounting or binding; the sheet seems to be able to be unfolded without difficulty. Micro-foxing in the left border outside the image.

Beautiful, well-contrasted print, printed on quality paper, representative of 19th-century French prints after the Flemish masters of the 17th century. Loose sheet, not mounted.
