Artist Corneille, Title Au saveur de l'été, a 2003 hand-signed limited edition silkscreen in good condition, 42 × 30 cm, Netherlands origin, sold by Galerie, in the Expressionism style.
Description from the seller
In Au saveur de l’été (literally The Flavor of Summer) Corneille brings the season's atmosphere to life with vivid colors and playful shapes. The title emphasizes the association with warmth, light, and liveliness—typical elements that recur in his summer compositions. The simplified, almost childlike visual language and contrasting blocks of color fit his expressive style, in which intuitive imagery and emotion are more important than realism.
Corneille (1922–2010) was a co-founder of the CoBrA movement and an important innovator in post-war art. His work evolved from abstract to figurative, with recurring themes such as birds, women, and flowers. This colorful silkscreen print is a fine example of his later style.
Dimensions of the work without a frame: 42 x 30 cm
Appointments for viewing are available. We have our own framing workshop (celebrating 85 years) and work with recognized restorers (Restauratoren Nederland). Please feel free to contact us via our website.
