Description
Remarkable old engraving depicting a scene of card playing in a rustic interior, after the work of the Dutch master Adriaen van Ostade. The composition shows several peasants gathered around a table in a dim inn, playing cards in a convivial and lively atmosphere. The dramatic lighting and the handling of shadows are characteristic of Ostade's style.
