Geert Vrijdag had a quiet calm about him, as if he always walked just one step slower than the rest of the world. Not out of laziness, but out of attention. He really listened when someone spoke, looked up for a moment before he answered, and seemed to see more than others because of it. Vrijdag was his favorite day, not because the weekend began, but because the week then felt finished.
As if everything that was unfinished still had one more chance to come together.

Geert loved small rituals: the same coffee, the same chair, the same brief moment of quiet at the end of the day. People sometimes called him predictable, but those who looked closer saw that he left room for what mattered. No rush, no frills. Just being present.
