Description from the seller
Max Kreijn – Bangkok
In Bangkok, a ceramic pot lies on the ground, partly wrapped in newspaper. The everyday material contrasts with the fragile ceramic. The many shadows create depth and a calm, almost mysterious atmosphere, giving the simple object extra attention.
After studying architecture for a few years at Eindhoven University of Technology, Kreyn continued his training in Monumental Art at the Gerrit Rietveld Academie in Amsterdam. Subsequently, he took lessons under, among others, R.B. Kitaj and David Hockney at the Royal College of Art in London. After his studies, he first moved to the island of Ibiza and then to Assisi and Florence, where he devoted himself intensely to painting. For more than forty years the artist lived and worked in various countries, including Italy, Spain, Great Britain, Portugal, Thailand, Argentina, and Australia. This international background and broad artistic formation are reflected in his work, in which architecture, atmosphere, and personal experience come together.
Dimensions: 75 x 75 cm
Viewings are, of course, possible. In addition, we have our own in-house framing workshop, which is celebrating its 85th anniversary year. We also work with restorers from the professional association: 'Restauratoren Nederland'. If you would like to use this service, we would of course be happy to hear from you.
