Carl Biese’s rare 19th‑century lithograph Waldbruders Klause (c. 1880), hand‑signed, lithograph on heavyweight cardboard, 50 × 39 cm, in good condition, Neo‑Romantic in style, with reverse proofs for greeting cards.

Carl / Karl Biese (1863 Hamburg - 1926 Tübingen).
"Waldbruders Klause".
Ca. 1880.
Rare lithograph (perhaps unique) by the post-Romantic painter from Hamburg.
Size: 50 x 39 cm.
Hand-signed by "Carl Biese".
The lithograph was printed on the reverse with proofs for greeting cards (also signed, but unrecognizable).
Heavyweight cardboard.
Biese was a co-founder of the Karlsruhe Artists' Association. He found his natural subjects on numerous trips through the Schwarzwald, the Moselle region, the Rhineland, and the North German Lowlands. His ethereal and atmospheric depictions of the seasons, especially his winter scenes, made him famous.
