Karel Appel, Musique Barbare, a 1963 signed lithograph in a limited Cobra edition from the Netherlands, 28 × 37 cm.
Description from the seller
This lithograph originally formed part of a set, issued in 1963. This set consisted of the book Musique Barbare, with 25 photographs of Karel Appel at work in his studio, taken by Ed van der Elsken, and with text by Jan Vrijman. Accompanying this edition was also a special color lithograph made by Karel Appel and an LP in a four-page jacket. The text for this was also by Jan Vrijman and the photography by Ed van der Elsken.
Karel Appel (Amsterdam, April 25, 1921 – Zürich, May 3, 2006) was a Dutch painter and sculptor, active in the modern art of the second half of the twentieth century. He is regarded as an expressionist. His major breakthrough came with his membership in the Cobra group.
Dimensions: 28 x 37 cm
Viewing is, of course, possible. In addition we have our own in-house picture-framing workshop, which is celebrating its 85th anniversary year. Furthermore we employ restorers from the professional association: 'Restauratoren Nederland'. If you would like to make use of this, we would of course be pleased to hear from you.
