Roland Bierge (1922–1991) was a French painter who became best known within the movement of figurative abstraction. He was born in Paris and from the 1950s developed a strictly abstract body of work in which colour, rhythm, and optical tension were central.

In his early period Bierge still worked figuratively, but he soon evolved toward a pure visual language.

Today, Bierge is regarded as an important representative of French figurative abstraction, in the tradition of artists who combine order, method, and visual dynamism.
