WORK
For me, “Invasion” is an organic invasion, not “military”: a pattern that grows, repeats, and overlaps until the space is almost completely filled. It is not a uniform fill, because there are micro-variations and small gaps that barely allow the surface to breathe.
And that orange corner is the key point: it is small but very strong. It can be a signal (a light, a warning), or the only part that remains and stays different, like an uncolonized edge, like an artist who seeks to distinguish themselves in every gesture, who does not conform to the crowd.
I chose to place it on the upper right also for a “mental” reason: it is a direction that the gaze often climbs toward when imagining, remembering, or looking for an image in the head. In this sense, that fragment of color becomes the most free and creative zone of the work, a vanishing point that interrupts the invasion of the pattern and opens air.
"What does this work communicate to you?"
ARTIST
I am Pietro Fight, a visual artist based in Milan. My research is a “writing of gesture”: sign- and calligraphic-abstractions in which circular motifs and nets of marks build rhythm, density, and breath. I am interested in weight in space, the balance between positives and negatives, between accumulation and suspension, between the intensity of the mark and zones of visual silence. This language arose in 2020, during the Covid period, turning the boredom of daily routine repeated into construction and variation. From that origin also comes my signature “Corona,” a direct trace of that time (coronavirus): the artist name is Pietro Fight, while the signature on the works is “Corona.” Even if the method is repetitive, each work remains unrepeatable, because every circle and every trace are always different.
