Description from the seller
This oil painting by Michael John Hunt depicts the Oude Schans in Amsterdam with the Rembrandt House. The work is signed lower right.
Michael John Hunt is mainly known for his still lifes, which often depict intimate interiors, in both stately and more rustic atmospheres. Just as with the Dutch masters, the surfaces in his paintings are worked out very finely, making his technical skill visible in realistic lighting effects such as shadows and reflections. His work is permanently on view in The Hunt Gallery in England and the Eleanor Ettinger Gallery in New York. In addition, he participated for six years in the Royal Academy Summer Exhibition, as well as in the Paris Salon, the National Art Collection Fund and the Society of Equestrian Artists.

Provenance:
- Pieter Breughel
