Large original work by Salentijn, beautifully framed and in good condition. Image size: 65 x 50 cm
Kees Salentijn is studying at the Rijksakademie van Beeldende Kunsten in Amsterdam, Department of Free Painting. O.B. Kat is his principal teacher there. During his studies, Salentijn studies paintings in the Prado in Madrid and he stays for several months with a Berber family in Morocco.
In the eighties Salentijn travels a lot to Spain. He feels connected during this period with artists from diverse movements, who advocate spontaneous unconscious creation to varying degrees and do not primarily pursue aesthetic representation. He combines the cheerful Cobra visual language with the influences of Spanish culture.
