Max Kreijn, Khon Kaen, a limited edition watercolour from 1990, 90 by 70 cm, hand-signed, in good condition.
Description from the seller
Max Kreijn – Khon Kaen
In Khon Kaen, Max Kreijn allows himself to be inspired by the atmosphere and impressions of the Thai city of Khon Kaen. The work captures the liveliness and character of the surroundings in a free, expressive visual language.
Through the use of color, rhythm and simplified forms a dynamic composition arises in which memory and perception come together. The work reflects Kreijn’s interest in travel and in capturing impressions of places and cultures.
After several years of studying architecture at Eindhoven University of Technology, Kreijn continued his studies in Monumental Art at the Gerrit Rietveld Academie in Amsterdam. Subsequently he took lessons under the guidance of, among others, R.B. Kitaj and David Hockney at the Royal College of Art in London. After his studies he first moved to the island of Ibiza and then to Assisi and Florence, where he devoted himself intensely to painting. For more than forty years the artist lived and worked in various countries, including Italy, Spain, Great Britain, Portugal, Thailand, Argentina and Australia. This international background and broad artistic education are reflected in his work, in which architecture, atmosphere and personal experience come together.
Dimensions: 90 x 70 cm
Viewings are, of course, possible. In addition, we have our own in-house picture framing workshop, which is celebrating its 85th anniversary. Furthermore, we make use of restorers from the trade association: 'Restauratoren Nederland'. If you would like to take advantage of this, we would of course be pleased to hear from you.
