Description from the seller
Max Kreijn – Bangkok
In Bangkok, Max Kreijn portrays his impressions of the bustling Thai capital Bangkok. With a free and expressive style, he captures the city’s dynamism, colors, and energy.
The composition consists of simplified forms and vivid color usage, resulting not so much in a realistic depiction, but rather in a personal impression of the atmosphere and rhythm of the city. The work reflects Kreijn’s fascination with travel and urban cultures.
After studying architecture for several years at Eindhoven University of Technology, Kreijn continued his training in Monumental Art at the Gerrit Rietveld Academy in Amsterdam. Subsequently, he attended lectures under, among others, R. B. Kitaj and David Hockney at the Royal College of Art in London. After his studies, he first went to the island of Ibiza and then to Assisi and Florence, where he dedicated himself intensively to painting. For more than forty years the artist lived and worked in various countries, including Italy, Spain, Great Britain, Portugal, Thailand, Argentina and Australia. This international background and broad artistic formation are reflected in his work, where architecture, atmosphere and personal experience come together.
Dimensions: 90 x 70 cm
Size of the work without Passe-Partout: 76 x 57 cm
Viewing is, of course, possible. We also have our own in-house framing shop, celebrating its 85th anniversary. In addition, we make use of restorers from the professional association: 'Restauratoren Nederland'. If you would like to make use of this, we would of course be happy to hear from you.
