Max Kreijn, Kan, a 1993 pencil drawing (Original edition) hand-signed, measuring 100 × 80 cm, in good condition.
Description from the seller
In this work Max Kreijn presents a simple everyday object in a still life composition. Through the play of light and shadow the ordinary object takes on a almost monumental presence. As is often the case in his work, not the object itself is central, but the atmosphere, space and attention to form.
After several years of studying architecture at the Technische Hogeschool Eindhoven, Kreyn continued his studies in Monumental Art at the Gerrit Rietveld Academie in Amsterdam. Subsequently he took lessons under the guidance of, among others, R.B. Kitaj and David Hockney at the Royal College of Art in London. After his studies he first moved to the island of Ibiza and then to Assisi and Florence, where he devoted himself intensively to painting. For more than forty years the artist lived and worked in various countries, including Italy, Spain, Great Britain, Portugal, Thailand, Argentina and Australia. This international background and broad artistic training are reflected in his work, in which architecture, atmosphere and personal experience come together.
Dimensions: 100 x 80 cm
Size of the work without Passe-Partout: 63 x 53 cm
Viewing is, of course, possible. In addition, we have our own in-house custom framing shop, which is celebrating its 85th anniversary year. We also work with restorers from the professional association: 'Restauratoren Nederland'. If you would like to make use of this, of course we would be happy to hear from you.
