Description from the seller
Stunning color lithograph and aquatint on rag paper from 1976, signed in pencil at the center-right and numbered 1/100.
Published by Yves Rivière
Dimensions: Large format - 65.7 x 49.2 cm
A splendid work, offering an exceptionally high-quality graphic rendering, extremely decorative and hand-signed by the master of the CoBrA movement.
Note: plate from the series "Central Park" made after the artist's famous painting that depicts Central Park as a monster devouring everyone who enters its domain. This is the first work the artist painted in this manner: a colored image in the center and small images all around. Pierre Alechinsky recounts that he created it while observing the paths, rocks and lawns of Central Park from his New York studio on the 35th floor. Seen from above, he felt the park resembled a monster's maw. He then decided to add drawings all around to tell the unsettling things that happen at night near the park. The artist thereby premiered the painting "with marginal remarks".
Careful packaging and international shipping with tracking number and insurance.
