This lithograph originally formed part of a set, issued in 1963. This set consisted of the book Musique Barbare, with 25 photos of Karel Appel at work in his studio, taken by Ed van der Elsken, and with text by Jan Vrijman. In this edition there was also a special color lithograph made by Karel Appel and an LP in a four-page cover. The text for this was also by Jan Vrijman and the photography by Ed van der Elsken.
Karel Appel (Amsterdam, 25 April 1921 – Zürich, 3 May 2006) was a Dutch painter and sculptor, active in the modern art of the second half of the twentieth century. He is considered one of the Expressionists. His big breakthrough came with his membership of the Cobra group.
Dimensions: 28 x 37 cm
Viewing is of course possible. Additionally we have our own in-house framers, who are celebrating their 85th anniversary year. Furthermore we make use of restorers from the trade association: 'Restauratoren Nederland'. If you would like to make use of this, we would of course be happy to hear from you.
