Seller's Story
Alexander Ivashkevich (born 1960, currently based in Tallinn, Estonia) is a multifaceted artist — an acclaimed theatre and film actor and fine art photographer.
With over 15 years of experience in fine art photography, he has honed a distinctive, instantly recognisable style that has earned him international recognition.
Specialising in portrait and boudoir photography, Alexander takes a unique approach, going beyond traditional beauty to reveal a person’s character’s hidden, often unexpected facets.
He is the only photographer in Estonia who combines professional acting mastery with photography. His work captures both the physical elegance and his subjects’ deeper, unseen emotions. Many models describe their photo sessions with him as a powerful form of self-discovery — one that transforms both their outward appearance and inner confidence long after the session ends.
Thanks to his extensive experience on stage, his portraits stand out for their depth, expressiveness, and subtle psychological insight. These are more than just images — they are reflections of the inner world captured in a single frame.
He draws inspiration from renowned painters of past centuries (Leonardo da Vinci, the Pre-Raphaelites, and the Impressionists), whose vision of natural human beauty aligns with his perception of the beauty canons of past times. He is also inspired by vintage aesthetic - not only in fashion or costume, but in mood, in light, in how beauty is treated: less gloss, more nuance; sensuality, tenderness without vulgarity.
This has shaped his visual language, and as a result, his photographs are often described as paintings rather than traditional photography.
