The lead roles are portrayed by Lili Taylor as Valerie, Jared Harris as Andy Warhol, and Martha Plimpton as Valerie’s friend Stevie. John Cale of The Velvet Underground wrote the music for the film, despite protests from former band member Lou Reed.
