Description from the seller
This is a suggestive landscape composition signed “Lizano” and dated 2-V-69 in the lower right corner, in which the artist builds a scene of great visual lyricism, organized around a small pier or riverside construction by the water, framed by slender cypresses and a mountainous background of notable chromatic richness.
The work stands out for its strong luminous sensitivity and for a free and vibrant interpretation of the landscape. The author arranges the composition through a successful play of verticals — marked by the cypresses — and horizontal planes of water and mountain, achieving a very attractive visual balance. The white architecture at the foreground acts as a compositional focal point, reflecting on the water’s surface with interesting chromatic nuances that enrich the whole.
From a stylistic point of view, the painting sits within a post-impressionist and decorative line, with a loose, impasted, expressive brushstroke that gives prominence to color and atmosphere over meticulous description. The purples, blues, greens and ochres combine with great freshness, generating a scene of strong visual impact and a clear Mediterranean vocation.
Especially accomplished is the resolution of the water and its reflections, where the artist demonstrates notable technical ease. Likewise, the vibrancy of the light on the construction, the vegetation and the mountain adds depth and dynamism, reinforcing the evocative character of the whole.
This is a work of notable decorative presence, very suitable for both collection and interior ambiance, due to its compositional balance, its chromatic richness and its marked landscape sense.
The piece is presented framed. The frame will be sent as a gift along with the work; it shows defects and signs of use, and it also fits slightly loosely to the panel, an aspect to be taken into account in its presentation.
The images are part of the description.
