Description from the seller
EL ABRAZO is a 70x100 cm painting by contemporary artist Ernest García. In this work, two figures merge in an intimate and protective gesture. A woman wraps her arms around a child who rests confidently on her chest, creating a closed composition that conveys calm, affection, and refuge. The scene represents a universal moment of care and closeness, where physical contact becomes the emotional center of the work.
The figures are simplified and outlined with bold black contours, reminiscent of Fauvism aesthetics and certain modern art traditions that prioritize expressiveness over naturalistic detail. The faces, with closed eyes and serene expressions, reinforce the sense of tranquility and deep bond between the two figures.
The surrounding landscape appears constructed with fields of intense color: red hills, green vegetation, and a bright blue sky. These chromatic planes do not aim to describe reality but to create a vibrant atmosphere that envelops the figures and enhances the emotion of the scene. The contrast between the warm skin tones and the saturated colors of the surroundings produces a visually powerful and direct image. The painting conveys tenderness without the need for narrative details, relying solely on the strength of the gesture and the harmony of color.
El Abrazo is a work about the loving protection and security found in another. A simple and universal image that celebrates affection, trust, and the bond between generations.
