Original antique hand-operated ship’s bilge pump in solid brass, dating from 1950–1960, of Nederlandse origin, measuring 51 cm high, 25 cm wide and 26 cm deep and weighing 4 kg, in good used condition with minor signs of aging and spots, intended for decorative use.
Description from the seller
Very handsome and original antique hand-operated ship’s pump, made of solid brass. This type of pump was traditionally used as a bilge pump (the last part of a ship) aboard vessels, for pumping water out of the hold or for deck washing.
The pump features a nicely executed monogram “RC,” indicating the original manufacturer. Identical pumps bearing this mark are known from Europe, probably originating from France/Belgium or Germany.
The finish and construction point to a professionally manufactured object from the mid-20th century, intended for intensive use in maritime environments.
A particularly decorative and authentic nautical item, very suitable for collectors of nautical antiques or as a stylish interior piece. In this condition it is for decorative use only.
Photos are part of the description. Also a photo with a pen so the size can be clearly determined.
The ship’s pump will be very carefully packed, registered and insured, shipped with a track and trace code.
