Description from the seller

Alfredo Rapetti Mogol is one of the protagonists of the current Italian scene, son of the famous lyricist Mogol, and blends his sensibility as a writer of lyrics with painting.
The art of Rapetti Mogol - Sign Abstraction / Visual Writing - is based on the graphic sign: his works resemble “written pages” where words become scratches, grooves or traces; often the words are not clearly legible, but evoke a sense of prayer, diary or musical score. Being a mixed technique on canvas, the work plays a lot with thickness. Rapetti Mogol often uses stucco, plasters or color stratifications (such as gold in the series “Gold”) which he then incises with a nib or a point, almost “digging” into the canvas.

"Gold" by ALFREDO RAPETTI MOGOL, 2007 - Mixed media on canvas, 40x40x3 cm

The work "Gold" by Alfredo Rapetti Mogol is characterized by strong horizontal bands of color — turquoise, red, beige and gold — laid with a thick, tactile weave. The surface is incised by a dense pattern of signs that recall cursive writing.
A strong work like "Gold" sits well in an Industrial-Chic setting where it is able to create a sophisticated dialogue between contemporary art and interior design, playing on the contrast of colors and materials, filling the space physically, chromatically and materially, and tying together all the furniture elements present.
