Important lot consisting of 10 original 24 carat gold plaques by the artist Aligi Sassu, from the famous series “The Gospel,” produced in the 1970s by Gold Market (Milan).
The works depict sacred subjects typical of Sassu’s production, crafted in refined bas-relief on 24 kt gold leaf applied to a rigid silver support.
Each plaque is signed and numbered, as in the original limited edition production.
The lot represents a significant part of the complete series of 12 elements, and is of definite interest to collectors of Italian 20th-century art and artist’s multiples.
