The image shows studies of a horse created by Leonardo da Vinci around 1490.
The artwork is a technical sketch that explores a horse’s anatomy and musculature in detail.
Leonardo made these studies in preparation for an unfinished equestrian statue for the Duke of Milan.
The original drawing was made with metalpoint on blue-toned prepared paper.
Currently, this sketch is part of the prestigious Royal Collection in the United Kingdom.
