Fernando Ribaudo - Concerto Medioevale

I am Fernando Ribaudo, a 63-year-old Italian artist. I have worked for 42 years as a Scenographer, and I have painted about 500 canvases in my life. Currently I am dedicating myself to creating some paintings for various competitions. My father was a portraitist; my grandfather painted frescoes in churches in Sicily. The single painting I created represents an absurd scene—the Medieval Concert—a surreal dream of mine with two semi-nude violinists in masks, wrapped in precious damask veils that test their music. Everything then blends in the dream into theatrical metaphorical elements that underscore the beauty and precariousness of life itself. Executed on a pencil-and-pastel base, with a final acrylic finish and a transparent coating.
