Roger Bertemes (Luxembourg 1927 - 2006), The Written Land. Five engravings. Sheets 66 x 50 cm. All signed in pencil and numbered 62/90. Complete portfolio produced by La Pergola Pesaro. The copper plates were printed in Paris on the hand presses of Georges Leblanc's workshop. Arches paper. Each print bears the publisher's dry stamp. In excellent condition - some minor and normal foxing. Auction without reserve!

Origins: Born in Boevange on July 4, 1927, he lived and worked mainly in Luxembourg City until his death on November 28, 2006.
Pedagogical Career: In addition to painting, he had a long career as a teacher, becoming in 1970 head of the etching workshop at the Lycée technique des Arts et Métiers.
The 'Painter of Poets': He was so nicknamed for his intense collaboration with the literary world; he illustrated over 40 books by various European authors and poets.
