Pathetic, '2304 ♠ X LIZ', an oil on canvas by Pathetic, 100 × 100 cm, unique edition from Italy, 2026, signed, with a Certificate of Authenticity.
Description from the seller
Pathetic – “2.304 x Liz” – Oil on canvas
Rare work by the artist Pathetic, author recognizable by his distinctive symbol: an inverted black heart.
In this labor, the artist composes the iconic face of Liz Taylor through 2,304 small hearts painted by hand, creating an image with strong visual and conceptual impact.
The piece fuses pop aesthetics with critical reflection, transforming a sentimental symbol into a more unsettling and contemporary visual language. The little hearts, seemingly delicate, become here the vehicle of a powerful message: a stance against a society increasingly based on artificial emotions, built relationships, and superficial sentimentality.
The portrait of the Hollywood diva thus carries a double reading: on one side the timeless allure of the icon, on the other a more disillusioned and provocative view of the present. The result is an intense, recognizable work with great decorative strength, capable of engaging with contemporary collecting, pop art, and street-influenced art.
Technique: oil on canvas
Dimensions image/canvas: 100 × 100 cm
Frame: not specified / absent, unless otherwise indicated
Signature: [indicate position and medium, for example: signed bottom right]
Edition: unique work
Provenance: private collection
Documentation: accompanied by Certificate of Authenticity
Note: work with strong visual presence, ideal for collectors interested in iconic, provocative, and conceptually current pieces.
