Artist Mimmo Germanà (1944-1992), title Rosso, oil painting from 1986, contemporary Italian period 1980-1990, 88 × 58 cm, framed, original edition, in excellent condition.
Description from the seller
This painting is the work of the Italian artist Mimmo Germanà (Catania, 1944 – Busto Arsizio, 1992), a representative of Transavanguardia, characterized by bold use of color and figures with soft, sinuous forms, often immersed in dreamlike landscapes.
Many of his canvases similar to this one date back to around 1989-1990 and depict a female figure in the foreground with vivid colors ranging from red to orange and yellow.
A background with stylized trees and brushstrokes of blue, green and purple. The figure seems to be holding an object, probably a shell, near the ear. Signed on the back with date and title.
Germanà is known for having participated in the Venice Biennale in 1980 and his works are today traded at several important Italian auction houses. Canvas dimensions: 70 x 40 cm. An accompanying certificate from the General Archive of the work is attached with number CRSCRSRA/OT.
The lot will be carefully packed and shipped with contracted couriers and online tracking. For this lot we do not ship outside the European Community.
