Distilled in 1948 at Glen Grant Distillery in Speyside, this single malt Scotch whisky was matured for 65 years in a sherry cask before being bottled by Gordon & MacPhail in 2006. The whisky was bottled at 40% ABV and represents a long-aged expression from one of Speyside’s well-known distilleries, founded in 1840.
Extended maturation in oak has given the whisky a profile associated with sherry influence, including notes of dried fruit, citrus and chocolate. Bottles from this vintage were released in very limited quantities and are sought after by collectors of older Scotch whiskies. This expression reflects Gordon & MacPhail’s long tradition of bottling mature single malts from carefully selected casks.
