Grand Master of color in the wake of Gauguin and Matisse, Guillaume Corneille creates a jovial world imbued with exoticism. The lithographic quality of Corneille is so high that it gives the impression of seeing the pencil line and brushstroke face to face.

Provenance: Atelier of the painter Guillaume Corneille (1922-2010), born in Liège to Dutch parents, founding member of the Cobra group with Asger Jorn, Karel Appel, Constant, Dotremont, Joseph Noiret, and also Alechinsky.
