Description from the seller
Barbara Guldenaar (Krommenie, 1971)
Barbara signs and paints watercolors and gouache (opaque watercolor). Additionally she creates collages, throws pottery, paints ceramics and takes photographs. Barbara Guldenaar's birds stand in a still white field, with little to no surrounding factors, here and there a branch or a cloud to pass the time. The birds arrive in the studio when the trees outside lose their leaves; there is time for silence and concentration. The birds are depicted very precisely, yet each retains its own character. "Just having a cup of tea to drink inspires me; when I see a detailed Chinese scene, where birds and blossoming branches get in each other’s way and fight for a place, which side of the cup will be drunk from. Or my grandmother’s teapot with a depiction on it where, according to Zap, his grandfather is seen, racing on a mythical creature. I want to show this beauty of everyday things."
Dimensions: 56 x 76 cm
Dimensions with frame: 66 x 86 cm
Viewing is of course possible. In addition we have our own in-house framers, who are celebrating their 85th anniversary. Furthermore we use restorers from the professional association: 'Restauratoren Nederland'. If you would like to make use of these services, we would of course be happy to hear from you.
