Tom Orsini
Everett Thomas Orsini, born in October 1946, has always lived in Rochester, New York. He graduated from McQuaid Jesuit High School in 1964. Among other courses, he studied Design at the Rochester Institute of Technology and Art History at the University of Rochester, attending evening classes. After retiring in 2003, after thirty years as a civilian police employee, Tom began creating commissioned watercolors of houses in the Rochester area. Retirement allowed him to travel across much of the United States with his partner, drawing inspiration from landscapes and figurative works in acrylic.
Combining caricatures with local architecture or landscapes, the "Vignettes" were born, an opportunity for Tom to tell a mini-story through the expressions and postures of his characters. Many wonder where he draws inspiration for many of the caricatures. They come from daily life and from the many people Tom met during the 30 years he spent on the streets of Rochester and on his travels across the United States, as well as elsewhere.
