Description from the seller
Due to relocation we are selling a number of artworks because of space constraints.
We bought this painting through a gallery in Rotterdam (Thyade) in 2014.
The painting hung in the living room for several years, and in the last years on the upper floor of the house. The painting has never been exposed to direct sunlight or the like, and is in perfect condition.
The painting is stretched over a wooden frame, and the canvas is linen.
The artist is Claus Costa.
The dimensions are 180 cm wide and 61 cm high.
Claus Costa's mixed-media techniques give his works a distinctive mark of exclusivity; there is no way to reproduce a piece exactly the same as another. Some of these techniques include oil, acrylic, chalk, textures and collage.
His art is based on icons that have been part of the lives of many generations. His gestures express the dynamics of the contemporary world in which contrasting ideas and facts from the past are permanently present.
Today he exhibits in galleries across Europe, primarily in the Netherlands, Germany and Belgium.
