Important Japanese bronze koro (incense burner), Meiji period, late 19th century, height 51 cm.

The piece is surmounted by a dragon holding a ball in its mouth and fitted with two stylised dragon-form handles. The globular body is decorated with geometric scrolls and engraved ornamental work, which give the object a strong decorative presence.

A fine and collectible example of Japanese bronze work from the Meiji period.
