Gaudaire began painting in 1965 and studied at the Ecole Nationale des Métiers d’Art in Paris from 1968 to 1971, but it was during his first study trip to Egypt (winter 1976) that he vigorously developed his work on primordial signs.

Throughout his career as a painter, study trips have taken him to Italy, Egypt, Greece, the United States, China, and Ethiopia.
